“I discovered that the lack of fulfilment I experienced, was because I wasn't listening to my intuition”

During my career as a lawyer, I somehow lost connection with my interest in the spiritual world which was so familiar to me when I was a kid. My mind was taken over. A critical voice kept saying I should live a regular life, make money and have a career.

I discovered that the lack of fulfilment I experienced, was because I wasn't listening to my intuition. Intuition, a beautiful, deep inner knowing that led me to my soul's purpose.

“One of the most powerful interventions is human connection”

One of the most powerful interventions is human connection. I believe there are ways to facilitate genuine connection between colleagues in the workplace, alongside a literacy in nervous system & emotional regulation, to help people reach more of their potential.

I have observed many wellness programmes focusing on offerings like yoga classes or social events that help team members in the moment of engagement, but don’t necessarily reprogramme their systems. I’m an advocate for creating containers in which people can express themselves vulnerably, and can learn tools to manage challenging internal experiences.

“Mental health wise, the company fails us”

We have a good team, but mental health wise, the company fails us. They don’t support us. We’re often overworked, and if you’re off sick, the workload just increases. There is also no reward system where you can get a bonus, or even just a few extra days off if you have exceeded your appraisal.

“I would advocate for an approach that puts the human being at the center”

Excessive micro-management and strict hierarchies stifled individual initiative and creativity at my workplace. This was particularly counter-productive for a predominantly junior workforce.

Youth provides a dynamic and creative atmosphere, which facilitates innovation and refreshing approaches to problem-solving. Whilst experienced colleagues provide valuable insights and guidance, drawing on their extensive tenures.

There’s a delicate balance between youthfulness, experience, and financial performance, as this all shapes a workplace culture.

I would advocate for an approach that puts the human being at the center, and values the strengths of a youthful workforce while ensuring effective decision-making processes and leadership, regardless of the income statement.
